Pre-Calculus Course Information

Pre-Calculus will cover the following topics: Linear functions and relations, systems of equations and inequalities, nature of graphs, polynomial and rational functions, Trigonometric functions, graphs and inverses of Trigonometric function, Trigonometric identities and equations, conics, exponential and logarithmic functions.

Supplies

Pencils, correcting pen, a lot of notebook paper, colored pencils, calculator and book. (I will give you at least a couple days notice if anything additional is needed)

HOMEWORK

Homework will be assigned almost every night. .

REVIEW FOR TESTS

I will give a review at least 2-3 days before a test. The number of problems will vary based upon the chapter. You will have the option to turn in completed study questions for 5 extra points on the test. NOTE: I will only accept completed review sheets turned in right before the test. The day before a test will be used as a review day. ONLY those people who have completed the review will have the option to re-test within five days after the original test

DISCISPLINE

I am pretty easy to get a long with. There are a few things that I am particular about. The policies and procedures of the school will be followed. I will take care of most of the challenges within my classroom, and I do call parents if needed. I despise referring students, but I will if needed.

EXTRA CREDIT

I do not give out extra credit assignments. There are always an extra credit quest ion on quizzes and tests.

GRADES

Your 18 weeks grades will be calculated in the following manner.

10% Homework average.

30% Quizzes and pop quizzes.

45% Tests and projects.

15% Semester Exam

100% Semester Grade

GRADE SCALE

The grade scale is the following for Pre-Calculus:

100 – 95 A                90 – 88 B+          80 – 78 C+                       70 – below N/C

94 – 91 A -               87 – 85 B              77 – 75 C

                                     84 – 81 B -           74 – 71 C-

Honors Algebra II Course Information

Honors Algebra II will cover the following topics:  functions and relations, graphing linear functions, solving systems of linear equations and inequalities, quadratic equations and complex numbers, exponential and logarithmic functions, rational functions, irrational functions, quadratic relations and systems, and more depending on time.

The highest grade you can make on a re-test is an 80.  If you miss the review day you are still required to take the test since I give ample notice about all tests.   There are no re-test on the final.  There will not be quizzes or re-tests for Chapter 1 & 2.
